Don’t upgrade your PC if you want to watch DVDs or Blu-rays in 4K
Image from MSPoweruser
If you are a user who still has a computer with a disk drive (DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) and you still use it to play your DVD or Blu-ray movies then you will want to pay attention. Starting with Intel's 12th gen Core Processors, Intel has dropped the necessary support to be able to decrypt and play your movies.
This change has been made to increase the security of the processors as the technology has been defeated by hackers. There is also a declining user base of physical media and even computers with disk drives included. More and more users have also moved to streaming.
If you still use your computer to watch your DVDs and/or Blu-rays then do not plan on upgrading or replacing your computer as any new system may not offer the capability to play them.

6 Ways To Get Unfiltered Google Search Results
Image from MUO
Google Search is the most popular search engine. Just like all of Google's other services they track everything you do and this information is used to personalize your search results. This means you will not see everything that you could.
Google uses the information it collects about you to make your search results more accurate and relevant. But by shaping the content you see to match your perceived interests, it also places you in a “filter bubble." This means you may miss out on useful sites that Google's algorithms deem less suitable for you.
There are many options and alternatives to get around this and depersonalize your search results. Check out the linked article for full details.

What Is Digital Decay & Data Degredation?
Image from MUO
Each week we will address a frequently asked question. This week we are looking at digital decay.
You may be asking what it is. Digital decay is the gradual breakdown, decomposition, and wear out of data stored on the computer.
There are many factors that contribute to this:
- Advancement of storage devices
- Storage device/hardware failures
- Link Rot (related to links on the web when they stop working)
- Hackers (erasing data)
One of the best ways to protect against this is to back up your data. For additional details check out the linked article.
